Single Zone Sub-Floor Radiant Packages
- Designed for areas that can be controlled by (1) thermostat
or can be combined to create a multiple zone
radiant system for homes, offices, etc. (see
"Zone Pump Controllers", at
bottom of page). Square footage estimate is based on 8" tubing
spacing, which allows 2 tubing lines to be installed per 16" joist
cavity. The tubing can be installed either sub-floor or above the
floor, just add the appropriate tubing installation supplies applicable
to your installation (See "Tubing Installation Supplies" below). Heat
Source, expansion tank, thermostatic mixing valve, tubing installation
supplies and std. piping/fittings between the heat source and manifold
are not included, see Additional Components
and
Tubing Installation Supplies,
below.

Tubing
Installation Supplies - The HRMVS0XPS packages do not include
tubing clamps or heat transfer plates. Order the appropriate type and
quantity of tubing installation supplies applicable to your specific
installation. Click on sale price for more information.
CLJ3 J-Clamps - snap over the
tubing and include an attached nail for quick installation. Recommended
for securing the tubing between the manifold and the heated area with
32" spacing, or less. Also used to secure the tubing to the sub-floor
when heat transfer plates are not used. Available in a 100 pack (CLJ3MV100).
CLE3 Economy Clamps - Also known
as Strap Clamps, Economy Clamps fit around the tubing and install with
screws or nails (not included). Recommended for installing tubing over
existing concrete (using a RAM-SET with washered fasteners) and for
other areas where screw-in installation is desired for easy relocation
or removal. Recommended spacing is 32"or less. Available in a 100 pack
(CLE3).
HRTP3 Heat Transfer Plates -
4-1/4" wide x 20" long with a 3/4" round channel for 1/2" tubing, these
galvanized plates install over the tubing in the joist cavity. They
heat up with the tubing and dramatically increase the direct heat
transfer to the floor, resulting in quicker heat-up and minimizing
"cold-spots". Install heat transfer plates 2" to 4" apart over the
tubing along the entire joist cavity starting 12" from both ends (to
allow for a 5" radius tubing loop at the end of the joist cavity).
Available in boxes of 25 (HRTP3).
Note: Heat Transfer Plates replace tubing clamps within the
joist cavity, however you will still need tubing clamps to secure the
tubing between the heated area and the manifold. For additional info,

Upgrades:
Flow Meter (Return Module) Upgrade
- HRCMFLM(upgrade)
Sale $10.26
includes Return Module w/integral flow meter (replaces HRCMRM return
module). This very economical upgrade will dramatically help with loop
balancing and is recommended for all single zone radiant packages,
Order (1) HRCMFLM(upgrade) per loop.
24 Volt Thermostat Upgrade -
HRTH24V(upgrade)
Sale $3.92 includes (1) HRTH24V 24 Volt Thermostat (replaces
HRTH110V line voltage thermostat). This upgrade is required for
multiple zone systems that use a zone pump controller. Order (1)
HRTH24V(upgrade) per radiant package (also order the appropriate zone
pump controller based on the total number of zones, see Zone Pump
Controllers below).
Bronze Circulator Pump Upgrade -
HRGP1SS(upgrade)
Sale $194.53 includes HRGP1SS single speed bronze
pump w/brass "Isolator" 1" flange and integral ball valve set (replaces
HRGP1 pump, HRGFLG5 flange set and HRGPMK pump mount kit included in
std. package). Order (1) HRGP1SS(upgrade) per radiant package. Bronze
circulator pumps can be used in all radiant systems to minimize
corrosion, and are required for use in "open" systems using potable
domestic hot water.
Additional HRH Package Upgrades
Additional Components:
Expansion Tank -
All radiant systems require an expansion
tank. Standard expansion tanks are recommended for "open"
systems (open systems use potable domestic hot water),
HRMVSEX15 for systems up to 50,000 BTU's and
HRMVSEX30 for systems from 50,000 to 100,000 BTU's. Expansion tanks
with auto-fill valves are recommended for closed systems,
HRMVSFT109 for systems up to 50,000 BTU's,
HRMVSFT110 for systems from 50,000 to 100,000 BTU's and
HRMVSFT111 for systems over 100,000 BTU's.
Thermostatic Mixing Valve - (HRTV4,
HRTV5 or
HRTV5th) is required on radiant systems if the heat source cannot
supply the lower temperature supply water needed for floor heat
(typically 90 F to 125 F). The TMV is a manually set valve installed
between the main manifold supply and return lines that blends return
loop water with supply water to maintain the desired supply water
temperature.
Pressure Test Kit - (MVSPTKCM)
includes air valve w/cap, 100 PSI air gauge (2.0") and pipe fittings
with 1" MPT adapter to connect directly to Comap manifold for pressure
testing.
Zone Pump Controllers
are used to combine
multiple single zone radiant packages for creating a multiple zone
radiant system for homes, offices, etc.
A Zone Pump Controller
(HRCP431S,
HRCP432,
HRCP433,
HRCP434, and
HRCP436) is the brain of radiant systems that controls 2, 3, 4 or 6
zones (the last digit in the zone pump controller part number is the
number of zones). When one of the zone thermostats calls for heat, the
zone controller starts the zone pump and sends a control signal to start
the boiler.
After selecting the appropriate radiant
packages for your multiple zone radiant system, select the appropriate
zone pump controller and add (1)
HRTH24V(upgrade) 24 volt thermostat upgrade per zone (zone pump
controllers require 24 volt thermostats instead of the 110 volt
thermostats included in the radiant packages).
For example: A four zone radiant
system for a home (two 575 feet zones and two 380 feet zones, @ 8"
tubing spacing) requires:
(2) HRMVS03PSC radiant packages
(2) HRMVS02PSC radiant packages
(1) HRCP434 4-Zone Pump Controller
(4) HRTH24V(upgrade) 24 Volt Thermostat
Upgrade
plus tubing installation supplies, expansion
tank, thermostatic mixing valve(s), heat source, upgrades and additional
components (described above).

Note: Comap manifold and radiant
package item numbers ending with "L" require a 1/2"
crimp tool. Even
though Radiant systems are very easy to install, we recommend
installation by licensed, experienced professional installers. Radiant
systems require electrical wiring, which must be comply with the NEC and
other local electrical codes, if applicable. All electrical wiring must
be preformed by a licensed electrician.
