HRGP Circulator Pumps for Comap Radiant Heat Systems

 Installation Tips

The pump can be installed anywhere along the heat source supply or return line.  Supply line installation is the most common for Comap radiant manifolds, but check your heat source installation directions for specific recommendations.

The pump can be mounted directly to the Comap manifold with a 4", or longer, 1" male pipe thread nipple.  (MVSupply.biz stock #HRMVSPN4)

Regardless of where the pump is installed, it needs to be secured firmly on both sides.  The easiest way is to use pipe brackets, MVSupply.biz stock #HRMVSPB3 (for ¾” pipe) or HRMVSPB4 (for 1” pipe), or standard galvanized pipe strapping attached securly to the inlet and outlet piping within 2 inches of the pump on both lines (inlet and outlet pipe).

bulletHRMVSEX30  50,000 t0 150,000 btu, no fill valve
bulletHRMVSFT109 or HS15FV  <50,000 btu w/auto-fill valve
bulletHRMVSFT110  or HS30FV  50,000 to 150,000 btu w/auto-fill valve
bulletHRMVSFT111  >150,000 btu w/auto-fill valve.

The pump can be direct wired to a line voltage thermostat (MVSupply.biz stock #HRTH110V) or controlled by a 24V zone controller (MVSupply.biz stock #HRVC541 or #HRCP431) and a 24V thermostat (MVSupply.biz stock #HRTH24V).  If you use 24V control, you will also need a pump relay (MVSupply.biz stock #MVSRLY01).

If your circulator pump is equipped with a 3-speed switch, select the slowest speed required to give satisfactory performance.  Generally, the slowest speed is adequate for radiant systems with up to 900 ln. ft. of tubing; medium is for 900 ln ft. to 1500 ln. ft of tubing and high is for radiant systems with more than 1500 ln. ft. of tubing.

All electrical wiring must be preformed by a licensed electrician in accordance with all NEC and local electrical code(s).

All plumbing must be preformed by a licensed plumber in accordance with all applicable plumbing codes.
